LET ME SHARE MY STORY...

As a kid, I remember I was very excited about growing up and wanting to snap photos for a living. This ambition started when my grandfather gave me a camera for my tenth birthday. At first, I was fascinated by the camera, it looked so amazing and interesting. It had all these different types of features which made me extremely curious. But for some reason, there was just something about cameras and photography that drew my attention. I felt that this type of technology was empowering. At the time, I was super happy and couldn’t thank my grandfather enough. So through-out my childhood I spent all my time running all over the house, garden, the street and just about everywhere else taking as many different types of photos I possibly could…

As I grew older, I grew more and more fonder of cameras and definitely knew this is what I wanted to do as a career….BUT as I entered university to pursue a degree in professional landscape photography, portrait photography and even wedding photography, I realised that the university had a lack of material and only taught you certain skills that would only produce certain results. These results were VERY average and I was very disappointed the entire time I was there.

BUT I DIDN’T GIVE UP!...I knew there was a lot more to professional photography, I don’t know how I knew, I JUST DID!..I could FEEL IT!. My passion drove me to exploring photography to a GREATER level and over the years I developed NEW methods, techniques and understandings in shooting professional photography.

Over the years, I have come across all types of photography and laid my eyes on all kinds of photographs, taken by teenagers, mature students, amateurs and even so called ‘professionals’. I noticed they all had one thing in common, they were average AT BEST!..All of them simply employed basic methods that produced basic results. I became so annoyed by this, as I felt people weren’t expressing their artistic talent enough. I realized it all came down to the methods and techniques and HOW they were taught.

Over the years, I’ve read many different types of professional photography ebooks and came to understand that they are lacking in method, filled with too much information, no examples and just generally confusing.
